"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there's more to the story than meets the ears.

Calling all young performers! We are looking for actors ages 6 (must be able to read) to 18 at the time of auditions. All performers interested MUST be available for tech week, starting June 21st, and all performances. No absences during this time will be permitted. There is also a mandatory set strike to prepare the theater for the next production.
There is no cost to participate; however, all actors are responsible for providing their own makeup, wigs if needed, and costume pieces, all subject to staff approval.
10-18 year old auditioners for roles should be prepared to:
Sing 16 measures from an upbeat show tune.
Please bring printed sheet music for your accompanist. Accompanist provided; no a cappella auditions.
Be ready to learn a dance combination
Some may be asked to stay for same-day callbacks
For those ages 6-10 or those interested in ensemble only:

Ensemble auditions will take place from 12:00–12:30 PM for anyone age 10 and under — no exceptions.
